What is the difference between Costa Blanca South and North?
Costa Blanca South (Torrevieja to Pilar de la Horadada) and North (Benidorm to Dénia) offer distinctly different experiences: SOUTH: Generally more affordable, flatter terrain, larger expat communities, more modern developments, purpose-built urbanizations, closer to Murcia airport, warmer and drier climate, extensive golf courses, large shopping centers.
Best for: budget-conscious buyers, retirees, those wanting an established expat community.
NORTH: Generally more expensive, dramatic mountainous coastline, more traditional Spanish character, charming old towns, upmarket atmosphere, closer to Valencia, more diverse landscapes, smaller coves and rocky beaches, wine regions.
Best for: buyers seeking character, culture, privacy, and are willing to pay more.
Both areas share: Mediterranean climate, excellent healthcare, international schools, Blue Flag beaches, and good flight connections.
The middle section (Alicante, Elche) bridges both worlds.
WOW-Estates primarily serves the southern Costa Blanca but can assist with properties throughout the region.
